Parisian Moment

Between Fashion Week and the upcoming edition of FIAC, I'm finding myself particularly missing Paris, a city where I once lived and will always hold close to my heart. And wouldn't it be lovely to have such a glamorous, yet effortless, fashion moment...

Just like these two gorgeous looks caught near the Tuileries. Oh, to just throw on a dress, a dynamite pair of heels, and stroll around the city of light!

Shower Style

These showers really create amazing rooms...Do you think of your bathroom as a room, especially as one that can set the tone for your whole house?

I think the impact of these spaces makes it clear how much bath design should never be overlooked! Wouldn't you love to start your day in a shower so lovely?

Working It

May your weekend be as fierce as this look!

This image was taken outside the Missoni show in Milan. I totally adore the pairing of the delicate, sleeveless, striped knit top with the badass arms of tattoos. What a way to stand out in a sea of fashionistas!

Gilded Accents

A beautiful gold mirror anchors each one of these rooms, statuesquely presiding over the spaces from a perch above a mantel or console table.

Paired with bright white walls, hints of black, and warm wooden furniture, the mirrors add the final touch that provides both warmth and glamour. The details in each room are also wonderful, and the spaces feel lovingly and purposefully collected over time. Très chic!

Changing Temperatures

As this week's weather shifts back and forth from muggy to nippy, it makes getting dressed a bit of a challenge. However, by pairing your miniskirt with a long-sleeved top (and your best heels, of course!), you can chicly bridge the gap between Summer and Fall!

Home Sweet Home

I was flipping through the most recent Architectural Digest and ran across this beautiful home in Virginia, not far from where I grew up in the countryside.

When I went to explore the magazine's website tonight, it recommended another Virginia house to me. Since this suggested estate is not only close, but literally two minutes from my childhood home, I thought it would be nice to share. Additionally, it truly showcases the beauty of the rolling Blue Ridge hills where I was raised, which is perfectly captured in this next image. Gorgeous, no?

Culinary Ideals

I think the thing that I miss the most about life outside the city is a big kitchen. My apartment has a galley-style kitchen that can comfortably fit one cook, but for two people it's just tight (which so many New Yorkers can understand!). As my collections of serveware and glassware grow, I dream of a huge room that can can happily fit me, my dinnerware, as well as all of my family and guests. And, while dreaming, whose cooking areas are more inspirational than Martha Stewart's...

Glass cabinets (like in image two) are at the top of my list for my future dream kitchen. I also love the open cabinetry that Martha uses throughout her homes, but that glass cabinet in her Bedford kitchen is swoon-worthy. Also, the custom nooks and crannies that create practical storage that can be accessed at a moment's notice would be a welcome addition to any house. Not to mention that all of the spaces are bathed in grey and white, my favorite color scheme!

I'm Loving...

Super bold combinations of purples, oranges, and reds....

Hues as lovely as their names (think magenta, maroon, mulberry, raspberry, violet, vermillion, persimmon...) welcome the new season with a rich and dynamic palette.

And, if you're feeling adventurous, you can even bring your hair and lips into the mix!

A great, fresh look to throw on for Fall!
