Restaurant As Home

My design style is fairly balanced between vintage and contemporary, and I really enjoy mixing old and new pieces to give rooms more visual interest. Big Fish, a restaurant located in Barcelona's El Born, does a wonderful job melding several periods by using antiques alongside modern elements...And it's completely gorgeous!

While the design rests more on the vintage side, the infusion of bright white walls, clean lines, and long, uncluttered tables gives the restaurant a very fresh feeling. This space would be fantastic inspiration for a cozy and stylish home! I love it!

Greek and Sleep

Tonight I left work and headed straight to Anthropologie (For the second day in a row! Yesterday to 5th avenue, and today to Chelsea Market!), where all sale items are 30% off this week...Such great holidays deals! Afterwards, Mr. V and our closest friends had a mid-week dinner at Snack Taverna, a quaint West Village Greek haunt that we hadn't been to in quite some time. After a very tasty dinner of tzatziki, roasted eggplant, and a delicious stuffed sweet red pepper over greek fava and spicy avgolemono, I'm ready for a great night's sleep!

English Countryside

Here's a beautiful spread on rural Britain that has me yearning to pack my bags...

I love the overcast, serene settings captured in these images, which were taken in Berkshire and Oxfordshire. This is the perfect environment to snuggle up with a pint and some wild mushroom shepherd's pie!

São Paulo Spirit

Owned by Fabrizio Rollo, former editor at Brazilian Vogue and now at House Beautiful Brasil, this stunning apartment combines color, patterns, and styles in the most alluring fashion. Collections are fastidiously stacked and arranged, and bright paisley and ikat fabrics add warmth to the geometric rugs and artwork. I really enjoy the vibrancy of this apartment...It just feels refreshing!

From Paris to Bombay

Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel Pre-Fall 2012 collection is completely amazing. The show took place on December 6 at the Grand Palais in Paris, and is a lush compilation of new pieces from the French fashion powerhouse, each of which are inspired by India. Few things could please me more than a combination of Paris and Bombay (two of my most favorite cities in the world, and also the title of the collection), and I am so captivated by these clothes. Also, Karl took it up a notch by having the models walk next to decadent banquet settings layered with silver trays, candelabras, and piles of rich foods. So gorgeous! Since Mr. V and I are going to India next month for a friend's wedding, and I will inevitably be mixing western garb with Indian attire, this is the best inspiration imaginable for how to seamlessly blend clothes and cultures...
