Halloween Pleasures

Tonight, the first Halloween festivities begin, and I'm looking forward to donning my masquerade mask and heading out to celebrate...

Yes, I'm still loving the masks...But in the end my look may be closer to the classic Kate...

Bewitching Feast

I loved this table scene spotted on Coco + Kelley yesterday...Between the candelabras dripping in crystals, the disco ball, and the haunting outdoor setting, it would make the most appropriate Halloween glamour dinner!

Guests all in their best attire...Black tuxedos for the men, long black dresses for the women...Appropriately adorned with masks and dripping with blood, of course!

Golden Furniture

Gild anything, and I'm usually a huge fan. For instance, I'm totally obsessed with this Kitamura Cabinet from Anthropologie...

Don't you love it!? Such a major statement piece. It would add a little jazz to any room!

Lacey Ambitions

The fashion world is currently a bit obsessed with lace masks...The look has saturated the runways (Chanel, Jason Wu) and magazines (Interview, Visionaire, W) this year. And I kind of love it.

Wouldn't this look make the best Halloween costume? I'm thinking I might take a cue from Claudia Schiffer's August Vogue Germany cover and go for a retro-glam (red lips, wavy blonde hair), mysterious (lace mask, black clothing) style this Halloween...

Weekend Getaway

So cozy...Would love to have this Catskills house as a fall escape from the city!

It would have to have some serious heat and insulation, however, as these days get colder!

Halloween Delights

My favorite lifestyle guru, Eddie Ross, knows a thing or two about Halloween. Not only does he decorate clients' houses, but he decks out his own annually as well. I adore these first few images...The outdoor table full of pumpkins and collection of cornstalks in the picture below is just awesome. And pumpkin as serving bowl with vintage ladle and ghostly bust? Amazing!

Urns and vessels filled with dried black, brown, and orange arrangements...

Table settings for ghoulish dinner parties at Eddie's house...

And, of course, pumpkins!

I hope that I have enough time to implement some of these cute ideas before Halloween (it's really been sneaking up on me!).

Harlem Calling

Kind of in love with this Harlem brownstone featured in the new issue of Elle Decor (which is fabulous, by the way). The mix of contemporary and cozy styles is fantastic, and I particularly like the low wooden table and chairs in the first image, as well as the choice of bathtub, headboard, and paint colors.

Manhattanites: If you live downtown, would you give up your location and (likely) smaller apartment for this stellar pad in Harlem?

Fortune Favors the Bold

I must say, I am utterly obsessed with the play Sleep No More, and truly cannot wait to go back. The dancing, the acting, the setting, the interactions...All in all, it's a completely encapsulating, transformative experience. The Hitchcockian, Shakespearean, 1930s film noir set creates the ideal ambiance for the haunting, bloody, voyeuristic and beautiful production. Not to mention, for design lovers, an obsessive attention to detail was used to create the amazing environment, and you have complete reign to rummage though antique trunks, drawers, letters in over 100 rooms...An explorer's delight!

I can't wait to spend another night at the McKittrick Hotel!

Black on Bottom

I pretty much live in black pants and dark denim, so I'm loving these easy, cool outfits...

Perfect weekend attire!
