Food and Gratitude

Well, the meal was definitely a success. I had a long and lovely dinner in my apartment with my parents and Mr. V's brother. We are all stuffed and happy, just as everyone should be on Thanksgiving!

On the very delicious (vegetarian) menu was butternut squash bisque with sour cream and cayenne, walnut loaf with burgundy sauce, cornbread stuffing, scalloped potatoes, cranberry sauce with horseradish and lemons, steamed string beans, warm homemade rolls, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Mom is a star chef, so it was scrumptious. And I got to use all of my vintage glassware, cake plates, serving platters, and wine buckets, so I was pleased!

I hope you all had a marvelous celebration as well!
