Morning After All Hallow's Eve

As I look out my window watching the barricades and decorations from last night's Village Halloween parade being dismantled, I couldn't help but wonder...Could you live with macabre decor all year round?

Cindy Greene, cofounder of Libertine, has an East Village apartment spotted with skulls and a sculpture of a knife plunging through a heart (a work by Damien Hirst), adding an ominous feeling to the space. And while the real ones admittedly freak me out a bit, I did buy a brass skull from D.L. & Co. this Halloween that I'm going to have a hard time putting away just yet...

Halloween Pleasures

Tonight, the first Halloween festivities begin, and I'm looking forward to donning my masquerade mask and heading out to celebrate...

Yes, I'm still loving the masks...But in the end my look may be closer to the classic Kate...

Bewitching Feast

I loved this table scene spotted on Coco + Kelley yesterday...Between the candelabras dripping in crystals, the disco ball, and the haunting outdoor setting, it would make the most appropriate Halloween glamour dinner!

Guests all in their best attire...Black tuxedos for the men, long black dresses for the women...Appropriately adorned with masks and dripping with blood, of course!

Lacey Ambitions

The fashion world is currently a bit obsessed with lace masks...The look has saturated the runways (Chanel, Jason Wu) and magazines (Interview, Visionaire, W) this year. And I kind of love it.

Wouldn't this look make the best Halloween costume? I'm thinking I might take a cue from Claudia Schiffer's August Vogue Germany cover and go for a retro-glam (red lips, wavy blonde hair), mysterious (lace mask, black clothing) style this Halloween...

Halloween Delights

My favorite lifestyle guru, Eddie Ross, knows a thing or two about Halloween. Not only does he decorate clients' houses, but he decks out his own annually as well. I adore these first few images...The outdoor table full of pumpkins and collection of cornstalks in the picture below is just awesome. And pumpkin as serving bowl with vintage ladle and ghostly bust? Amazing!

Urns and vessels filled with dried black, brown, and orange arrangements...

Table settings for ghoulish dinner parties at Eddie's house...

And, of course, pumpkins!

I hope that I have enough time to implement some of these cute ideas before Halloween (it's really been sneaking up on me!).

Fashion Fantasy

Halloween inspiration, perhaps?

As a post-apocalyptic warrior goddess?

What better time than Halloween to try extreme make-up, glamorous garb, and adventurous head pieces? Totally a more fun option than my typical witch costume!
