Fabulous Florals | Saipua

Today, my colleague Lisa introduced me to the flower designs of Saipua, a Brooklyn-based florist and soap maker, and I can't stop pouring over their beautiful designs, such as this one...

Saipua specializes in the most exquisite creations, each of which have a wonderfully organic look. Sarah Ryhanen, the shop's owner and a former art curator, also runs the Little Flower School with Nicolette Owen, who used to work for Domino. The duo was the subject of a feature in The New York Times in 2010 about flower arranging coming back into fashion as a younger, hipper art form - and it's certainly true! It's a skill I would love to master, and I definitely plan on signing up for a class at the Little Flower School in the near future.

Happy Monday

I'm spending my day off in the apartment, cleaning and puttering about as the afternoon light spills through the windows and gently warms the room. The draft from the winter weather outside is still palpable, but it's nice to feel the bright sun as I work...

As much as I detest working Saturdays and missing a whole day with Mr. V and our friends, I do love having a quiet day at home to catch up on things...Paying bills, ordering groceries, reading the stack of magazines I've been waiting to devour. The bright side of a gallerist's schedule.

Did You Hear?

Domino, my favorite mag of all time, is back!!

...At least in special edition form. On Tuesday, Condé Nast announced the forthcoming Domino Quick Fixes, which will hit newsstands April 17. I'm so excited! Like many other loyal Domino lovers, I've missed the magazine desperately since it closed in 2009. I have an entire collection of the publication safely tucked on my shelves and often still use it for inspiration. You can read the details of the comeback here.
