In-Store Dining

Last night I went on a lovely date with Mr. V to ABC Kitchen, a restaurant near our apartment that I've been meaning to try since it opened in March 2010.

Yet another venture from Jean-Georges Vongerichten, the eponymous owner of Jean Georges (as well as fifteen other venues including Spice Market, Mercer Kitchen, The Mark, and Perry St), ABC is inside one of my favorite shops, ABC Home.

We ordered both the crab toast with lemon aioli and the roasted kabocha squash toast with fresh ricotta and apple cider vinegar to start, which were delicious! I have to say, the subtle sweetness of the squash toast made it my favorite of the two.

For the main course, we got the black sea bass with chilies, herbs, baby potatoes and spinach, as well as homemade spaghetti with chanterelles and parmesan. Both dishes were great, but the pasta was dynamite!

All in all, so yummy! And the entire menu has an emphasis on local and organic foods, which I love to support. We drank the Peak Organic Nut Brown Ale, a very tasty accompaniment to the earthy squash and spaghetti dishes. ABC has a wonderful atmosphere, much like the ABC Home store (which everyone needs to visit). I highly recommend going for dinner if you're in New York!
