Perhaps influenced by the continual change of wardrobe she experiences as a model, Jessica Stam frequently reinvents the style of her pied-à-terre near Union Square. (While I previously mentioned that Jessica Stam is a part of Ryan Korban's illustrious client list, he did not design this particular apartment.) In October 2008, Stam's home appeared in Elle Decor awash in a lavish lilac haze designed by Rafael de Cárdenas.
Two vintage 1950s armchairs flank a Lucite and glass table on top of a Stark rug.
A pendant from the 1960s hangs over the dining area; the wallpaper is by Secondhand Rose.
In the bedroom, a custom made headboard by Cárdenas oozes luxury. The metallic wallpaper is by Secondhand Rose.
A 1940s lamp stands next to a vintage armchair. A stool, Marcel Wanders for Kartell, adds a welcome mix of vintage and contemporary style to the living room.

In the June 2010 issue of Elle, Stam debuted a stripped-down version of the original design. She eliminated the ubiquitous purple elements, saving only the dramatic curtains, in favor of a neutral color palette. While the furniture layout stayed the same, Stam had the couch reupholstered, removed the carpet to reveal the dark hardwood floors, and repainted the walls in a subtle shade of taupe.
Stam swapped out the dining room table, changed the fabric on the chairs, and repainted the trim and below the chair rail.
And, most recently, Lauren Santo Domingo featured Stam's home in her February Vogue feature, APT with LSD. The floor plan remains the same, but Stam removed the curtains and reupholstered the couch a third time, this time in a warm light green. I love how light and fresh the room feels in this final incarnation!
I think it truly fits Stam's age (25, she shares an age with yours truly), and the styling, with the removal of both the topiaries and the heavy drapes, feels effortless and appropriate. Gorgeous!
